Skin surgery and mole removal

We offer specialist mole removal and excision for benign skin lesions. These include long standing warts, skin tags, cysts, lipomas and intra-dermal neavi . These specialist services are only offered by our dermatologists as they are specialised procedures, best left in expert hands.

Our consultation fee and mole checks are £150 and Local anaesthetic (numbing) is used for all of our procedures.

Cyst removals start from £420 (including consultation fee and follow up) and we try and use minimally scarring methods and aim to minimise the recurrence risks.

Types of procedures and costs

Consultation and Shave Excision

Our no stitches method of removing lesions, such as small moles and skin tags which requires minimal aftercare. We also include a follow up appointment and review as part of this. Multiple skin tags are an additional £60 each.

Full skin and mole checks

We offer full skin examination and mole checks with our doctor and if there are any concerning lesions we will highlight these for you to approach your GP. For any benign lesions that are not treated on the NHS we can offer options for removal.

Excision of lesions

A deeper excision which ensures tissue is removed around the visible skin lesion. Requires stitches (which are dissolvable) and a follow up consultation is offered within 10-14 days to ensure healthy wound healing

Complex procedures / multiple moles

We often remove more complex or larger moles affecting specialist sites (e.g. Genitals, anal areas or facial areas). The price and aftercare is bespoke for this.

Cyst removals

Cysts can be painful and also cosmetically challenging. We offer cyst removal and use minimally invasive methods to remove cysts all over the body.

Scar revision

We offer scar revision and treatment of scarring. There are multiple treatment options which include the use of topical treatments, injectable steroids and re-excision and skin grafting.

High quality care

We pride ourselves on offering high quality mole/lesion removal which is offered by doctors only with experience in dermatology who have done numerous procedures like these.

Our clinicians will inform you if they feel that a lesion may require further investigation or histology. We are not currently offering histology as we focus on removing benign lesions only as more urgent excisions (for cancerous lesions) are quicker and more efficient via the NHS. If however, on an exceptional basis if we feel that histological analysis is required (after excision) we will arrange this at no additional cost to our patient.
